Five were sent to the hospital after a bad accident in Calhan.

It happened at the intersection of Highway 94 and Ellicott Highway.

11 News was there as a tow truck dragged a Honda Pilot out of a ditch. It had severe damage to the front of it.

Witnesses say a man driving a truck ran through a stop sign while likely speeding on Ellicott Highway.

Two women and two teen girls, on their way to trick-or-treat at church, were driving on Highway 94 when he cut in front of them. They t-boned the truck.

The truck then knocked down a stop sign, and hit a third car. That driver walked away uninjured.

The Pilot spun around and fell into a ditch. The four inside had to be extricated.

One or two people were airlifted to the hospital.

State patrol says that no one has life-threatening injuries. All were taken to Memorial Hospital.

Investigators say that neither drugs nor alcohol were involved in this crash. The driver will likely be cited.
