A HAZMAT team was called to a southern Colorado hotel after an employee found suspicious containers inside one of the rooms.

The people who were staying in the room reportedly left a dog behind and took off without paying their bill.

A hotel employee called police after finding propane tanks in the room. HAZMAT investigated, but did not find anything dangerous.

Police said animal control took the dog.

The incident happened Saturday at the Days Inn near North Academy and I-25 in Colorado Springs.
