Gun, Ammo Thrown From Stolen Car During Chase

A pistol and ammunition were thrown from a car during a pursuit in Pueblo County. Deputies later discovered it was a stolen car.

Pueblo County Deputies report they tried to stop the Mitsubishi Eclipse on Highway 50 in Salt Creek at approximately 7:15 p.m. The pursuit was short, but the deputies saw three occupants were inside the car and at different times the pistol and magazine were thrown out.

The pursuit was later called off when the Eclipse reentered the city limits and became a safety concern. It was later found abandoned in the area of Poplar and Iowa.

The Eclipse turned out to be stolen from the City of La Junta approximately three weeks ago.
