Continuing to track rain/snow showers throughout southeast Colorado this morning as wet, gloomy and cool conditions continue. If you are hitting the roads in the higher elevation (Teller/Fremont/Custer/ Monument) make sure you allow a little extra time as some roads may be a little snow covered. Wet pavement remains everywhere else. We'll see rain/snow showers continue for most of our Monday, clearing out before midnight. Head on over to the "Weather" tab for a full look at the week ahead.
La Junta Fire Department is reporting that a grass fire has been contained.
The fire was located at County Road 32 and County Road KK north of La Junta.
Officials say that a farmer was trying to burn a ditch when a 35 mph wind came across and spread the fire out of control.
A total of two acres were burned, but no homes were in danger during the fire.
The farmer who started the fire will not be fined because he is in an
agricultural area and it is within his rights to burn his ditches.
