On the same day the news broke that Home Depot is investigating a potential credit card breach, Goodwill announced that customer information was stolen from 300 of their stores across the country.
Eleven of the stores are in Colorado; six are in Colorado Springs. The others are in Canon City, Fountain, Grand Junction, Pueblo and Woodland Park.
Goodwill is placing the blame on an unidentified contractor's payment processing system. The company says reports about fraud linked to customer cards have been very limited.
The data theft occurred between February 2013 and Aug. 14 of this year.
