One of the busiest travel seasons of the year is almost upon us, with Thanksgiving a week and a half away. For those driving versus flying, what will gas prices look like?

Over the last month, the trend has been in a downward direction, with the average prices in the Springs dropping just over 30 cents, from $3.66 to $3.35.

There are a handful of gas stations in the Springs area with gas as low as $3.19, such as the Valero in Fountain.

For the most part, the lowest prices in Colorado Springs and Pueblo are in the $3.32-$3.35 range. A list of these prices can be found here. This is lower than both the national average, which is currently $3.43, and the state average of $3.41.

For those driving out of state this Thanksgiving, South Carolina has the lowest gas prices in the country at $3.07, according to gasbuddy.com. Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas round out the top five.

Hawaii has the most expensive gas in the country at $4.21; in the continental U.S., New York state has the highest at $3.99, significantly higher than any other state impacted by Hurricane Sandy.
