A Fremont County deputy is being held without bond on accusations of sexual assault.
Pueblo police arrested Joseph Bonfadini, 30, Wednesday night during a routine traffic stop. No further information about the arrest or the crime he was accused of have been released.
Bonfadini's ex-wife told 11 News that she was shocked to hear about the allegations.
"I wasn't expecting anything like this, especially knowing that he was working with Fremont County," Lisa Gonzales said.
The Fremont County Sheriff's Office says Bonfadini had only worked for them for a few months. He was employed with them in January.
11 News is continuing to follow this story, and will provide further updates as they become available.
