A former teacher has been found guilty of sexually assaulting multiple students while employed at Widefield High School.
Lee Riddle was arrested last fall after allegations emerged that he'd inappropriately touched several students. Arrest papers stated that Riddle would hit boys between the legs or give them what's called a "cup check."
A former student told 11 News that just before he graduated, Riddle sent him a friend request on Facebook. The two exchanged a series of messages that started out innocently, but became more personal in nature. The student told 11 News Riddle once asked him about his sexual preference, and invited him to hang out.
Riddle was found guilty Wednesday on charges of sexual assault on a child.
After the verdict was announced, District 3 released the following statement:
"District 3 respects the judicial process and its decisions, and encourages support of all those impacted."
Riddle will now have to register as a sex offender.
