Light to moderate snow showers continue this Wednesday morning with cold temperatures to start the day. Roads are *very* icy and snow packed throughout southeast Colorado... so please allow extra time for the morning drive. Throughout the midday and afternoon, we'll keep the chance of some light, fine snow showers, but expecting minor accumulations through the day. Snow looks to finally push out this evening/overnight and our warm up begins. Head over to the "Weather' tab for a full look at the forecast.
Former Colorado Lt. Gov. Joe Rogers has died at the age of 49.
A family spokeswoman says Rogers died suddenly Monday after going to the emergency room at Rose Medical Center.
Rogers was elected in 1998 to serve as lieutenant governor under former Republican Gov. Bill Owens. He was the last lieutenant governor to be directly elected by voters. Election laws were changed to allow gubernatorial candidates to pick their own running mates after Rogers and Owens clashed while in office.
Rogers is survived by his wife, their three children and his mother.
He will lie in state in the state Capitol rotunda on Tuesday. His funeral will be held Wednesday at Rising Star Baptist Church in Aurora.
