Flat Screen TVs, Jewelry Among Stolen Items Recovered In Apartment Search

A number of stolen items were returned to their rightful owners Friday after police uncovered the items in an apartment on the southeast side.

Officers were called to the Verde Meadow Apartments on South Chelton in Colorado Springs Friday morning on reports of trespassing. Police learned that the suspect had threatened the apartment managers with a gun the day before, and was a frequent guest at two of the apartments at the complex. Police found the suspect inside one of those apartments.

While at the scene, officers noticed a marijuana pipe and three flat screen TVs inside the apartment and got permission from the renter to search inside. Officers found one rifle, three handguns--two of which had been reported stolen, several laptops and jewelry. All were identified as stolen property.

Darius Hicks, 22, and Keith McClease, 28, were arrested. Some of the stolen items have been returned.
