First Responders Train Together to Fight Wildfires

Fire departments across Colorado are teaming up to do wildfire training.

When the call went out, each county met at a rendezvous point, assembled their strike team and then went to the Douglas County justice center. The goal was to do it all in 90 minutes.

The point of the exercise was to see just how well multiple fire agencies could work together and get to one meeting point in case of a major emergency.

Organizers say they hope the practice Saturday will help fix any communication issues before emergency crews have to deal with the real thing.

The seven communities that participated in the exercise will hold another one in Loveland in the upcoming weeks.
