July 4 Shows

Cooler weather and a modest increase in precipitation are allowing a handful of public firework displays to go on as scheduled.
The Memorial Park event on Thursday will go on with a show by the Colorado Springs Philharmonic as well as fireworks. Fireworks are scheduled to go off in Memorial Park around dusk. The event begins at 5 p.m. with food and drink available. At 5:30 the Craig Walter Band will play, followed by the Philharmonic at 7:30.
The Sky Sox will also hold their Independence Weekend Fireworks Shows. That will continue this week as planned for Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Firework shows in both Pueblo and Pueblo West are still scheduled to go off as planned. Rollin' on the Riverwalk will take place with a performance by the Pueblo Symphony Orchestra followed by fireworks. The event is located at the intersection of Main and Grand, and will be held Thursday from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. Admission for adults is $3; kids 4 to 12 are $1; kids 3 and under are free.
Some firework celebrations have been postponed or cancelled.
In Manitou Springs, the fireworks display has been cancelled.
Fort Carson announced that their annual 4th on the 3rd Independence Day celebration has been postponed due to fire restrictions. The celebration has been rescheduled for Saturday, Aug. 31.
In Cripple Creek, the annual 4th of July fireworks show has also been postponed. Details on a future show and coinciding event will be provided as soon as possible.
The Air Force Academy 2013 Independence Day events have been canceled.
The Big Sandy Fire Protection District and the Simla Volunteer Fire Department have cancelled this year's fireworks show that was scheduled for Thursday evening at the Simla Football Field.
The city of La Junta says they will not be holding firework displays this 4th of July.
