Fires Started By Lightning In Fremont Co. Contained

Two small fires were started by lightning Saturday night in Fremont County.

According to a spokesman with the Fremont County Sheriff's Department both of the fires were near milemarker 4 on Highway 9 - north of Highway 50 in the county.

The first fire was about 1 acre in size and the second fire was limited to a 1/4 acre. The sheriff's department said the fires started around 6:30 p.m. last night and were contained by 11 p.m.

Crews are out at the site of the fires today making sure any hot spots are extinguished.
