A fire burning south of Alamosa is fully contained after scorching almost 1,000 acres.
Firefighters made significant progress Tuesday, having started the day with the fire 50 percent contained.
The wind-driven fire started Sunday, and threatened several buildings before firefighters got the upper hand. No buildings were actually damaged.
Authorities are now investigating what started it.
