Fire Destroys Home In Security-Widefield

A fire destroyed a home in the Security-Widefield area Monday, leaving a family displaced.

Investigators are still working to determine what started the fire, which began sometime shortly before noon at a house on Dartmouth Street, just north of Fontaine Boulevard. The occupants were not home at the time.

"I'm just so sorry for them, it's an incredible loss. I really hope I'm able to help them through all this...hopefully we can figure out what started the fire," a neighbor told 11 News.

Though the cause is still unknown at this time, investigators say the fire is not believed to be suspicious.
