A fire that was threatening a popular Colorado tourist spot is now fully contained.

The Red Canyon Fire burned 390 acres and threatened 20 structures three miles southeast of Glenwood Springs. However, as of Friday morning, all evacuation orders reportedly had been lifted.

Friday evening fire managers said the fire was fully contained.

Lightning from a storm is believed to have caused the fire, but the cause is still under investigation.

Sister station KCNC says that windy weather Wednesday temporarily prevented air tankers from battling the blaze, but helicopter drops were still able to be conducted. Despite the gusty wind, cloud coverage brought in cooler temperatures and kept the flames at bay.
