A fire burning in southeastern Colorado is 100 percent contained Friday morning.
After seeing the fire in daylight, firefighters have downgraded the acreage burned from 300 acres to 120 acres.
The grass fire, burning east of Las Animas, threatened the vacant Fort Lyon Correctional Facility, but never got onto the grounds. No homes were ever threatened, and there are no reports of any structure damage.
The fire was reported shortly before 8 p.m. Thursday and was fully contained by 4 a.m. Friday.
A cause is unknown at this time. The Bent County Sheriff's Office says there were no prescribed burns being conducted in the area, and no weather activity.
