A man convicted of killing a maintenance worker was sentenced Monday afternoon.
Isiah Jackson was sentenced to 48 years for murder and another 17 years for burglary.
Gregory Martin, 46, was stabbed after he interrupted a burglary in progress at the Park Ridge Apartments, which are located on the 2600 block of W. Serendipity Circle near Academy and Maizeland.
Neighbors say they led police to the suspect after he ran away from the scene. Police were able to quickly detain Isaiah Jackson.
The El Paso County Coroner confirmed that Martin's death was a homicide and that stabbing was the cause of death.
The incident took place in February of last year.
