Pedestrian In Fatal Collision Identified

A pedestrian struck by a car and fatally wounded in a crash Friday evening has been identified.

Tony Brito, 59, of Colorado Springs was killed after state troopers say he walked in front of an oncoming car.

The driver of that car, 19-year-old Tatyana Christmas, was wearing a seat belt and was uninjured in the collision.

According to Colorado State Patrol, Brito was crossing Bradley Road at Cantrell Drive in Security when he crossed in front of Christmas' vehicle. Troopers are still investigating whether Brito was using drugs or drinking at the time of the accident.

Brito was taken to Memorial Hospital after the crash and died a short time later.
