Questions still linger after a 25-year-old pedestrian was hit and killed by an oncoming car one mile north of Pueblo.
Colorado State Patrol is working to find out why Sergio Loredo-Perez of Colorado Springs would have been standing in the middle of a busy stretch of interstate.
Troopers say the victim was standing in the left northbound lane on I-25, and was struck by a car traveling 75 mph. The force of impact sent him into the right lane of traffic. He died at the scene.
Today, a witness came forward and told police Loredo-Perez was standing in the right-hand lane of I-25 looking west. The eyewitness said the man 'looked like he was in a daze' and didn't react to cars passing by.
The driver, a 57-year-old from Colorado Springs, called for help after the accident.
The crash happened at 9 p.m. Wednesday between mile marker 103-104 in Pueblo, which is near the Eden exit. Northbound lanes were closed for three hours.
State Patrol says the driver will not face any charges because the victim was standing in oncoming traffic.
Reports today from the coroner's office in Pueblo County reveal that Loredo-Perez's cause of death was blunt-force trauma. They are still awaiting a toxicology report.
