Facebook Announcing Changes To Site

Facebook users, brace yourselves: the social media site is getting a redesign.

The changes will be unveiled at Facebook's headquarters in California Thursday morning. The company is not revealing what the changes will be until the 10 a.m. PST news conference, though rumors are circulating that it has something to do with the news feed.

The news feed feature was introduced in 2006 to much initial controversy, with some users complaining that it was "stalkerish." Since then, users have grown accustomed to the feature, and it has remained pretty much unchanged in the years since its debut.

Other features on Facebook have changed drastically over the last seven years, prompting strong, sometimes negative reactions from users. The last major overhaul was the Timeline format in 2011.
