PUEBLO, Colo. Residents were told to stay in their homes while authorities investigated a tip about possible homemade explosives in a Pueblo neighborhood.

Police say a woman called them Monday afternoon to report that a family member was making explosives. The 700 block of West 11th Street was shut down and people were told to stay inside while the Pueblo Metro Bomb investigated.

No explosives were ever found, but the bomb squad says they did find some items that can be used to make professional fireworks. The area was cleared by 6 p.m.

Police say the man who had been accused of making explosives denied the allegations.
