Light to moderate snow showers continue this Wednesday morning with cold temperatures to start the day. Roads are *very* icy and snow packed throughout southeast Colorado... so please allow extra time for the morning drive. Throughout the midday and afternoon, we'll keep the chance of some light, fine snow showers, but expecting minor accumulations through the day. Snow looks to finally push out this evening/overnight and our warm up begins. Head over to the "Weather' tab for a full look at the forecast.
CORTEZ, Colo. (AP) - A former Montezuma County undersheriff charged with using taxpayer money to pay for personal items, including firearms, has pleaded guilty to public corruption charges.
The Cortez Journal reports Robin Cronk pleaded guilty Thursday to a felony count of embezzlement and a misdemeanor count of official misconduct. He's scheduled to be sentenced May 28 and is expected to receive 30 days in jail.
As part of a plea deal, Cronk also will be able to choose a detention center other than the Montezuma County jail because of safety concerns and conflicts of interest with local authorities.
Cronk was initially charged with 17 embezzlement counts and one count of official misconduct involving purchases totaling more than $7,400. He's accused of trying to sell some of the firearms by posting classified ads.
