Continuing to track rain/snow showers throughout southeast Colorado this morning as wet, gloomy and cool conditions continue. If you are hitting the roads in the higher elevation (Teller/Fremont/Custer/ Monument) make sure you allow a little extra time as some roads may be a little snow covered. Wet pavement remains everywhere else. We'll see rain/snow showers continue for most of our Monday, clearing out before midnight. Head on over to the "Weather" tab for a full look at the week ahead.
A dump truck driver hit the stoplights strung across the intersection at Mesa Road and Fillmore in Colorado Springs late Monday morning.
Officers at the scene said the driver knocked down an entire stoplight pole. The string of lights across the intersection fell onto the truck and across the road.
The intersection was closed for much of the day while crews cleaned up the mess and made repairs. It reopened around 10:30 p.m., almost 11 hours after the crash occurred.
