A Springs woman says it was a close call after a van crashed through her wall Monday afternoon.
"On the inside the car's wheels are just above the couch. Fifteen minutes before that me and my friend were just eating lunch there," Haven Warren said.
The crash happened at a duplex near Centennial and Garden of the Gods Road in Colorado Springs. Police say the driver of the van was an inexperienced 19-year-old who hit the gas instead of the brakes.
Haven said that everyone had moved to another room just before the accident.
"We were hanging out in the back room...next thing you know, we hear the glass shattered and it just kept grumbling. We all hopped up to see what happened, and next thing you know there's a minivan in our living room."
The force of impact knocked out the whole wall.
"There is no wall there no more," Haven's mother Jennifer Townsend said. She told 11 News that when the van crashed into the building, it sounded like a bomb going off.
"I was shaken up...I was more scared for Mom, I thought she was going to have a heart attack," Haven said.
No one involved in the incident was injured.
