The woman allegedly involved in a hit-and-run that left a Denver high school student in critical condition is reportedly a teacher.
Sister KCNC reports that the suspect has been identified as 31-year-old Erin Jackson, who is a teacher at an Aurora charter school. Police believe Jackson is the one who drove through a red light at Colfax and Elizabeth Wednesday morning and hit East High School junior Dee Bridgeman, 16.
Police released video Wednesday night that shows the car never slowing down before hitting Dee. Dee remains at Denver Health Medical Center in a medically induced coma. She suffered a serious head injury in the crash.
Jackson's car was found a few blocks away from the scene.
Jackson turned herself in Thursday and made her first court appearance Friday. KCNC says she sobbed through most of the session and was visibly shaken.
Jackson's bond was set at $25,000.
