Bagged salads are a staple in many homes, as a quick, easy way to put together a healthy meal or side dish.
They're also often the subject of recalls, including a major one in 2006 after an E. coli spinach outbreak.
Now a new one has been issued by Dole Food Company.
Dole is voluntarily recalling bags of Seven Lettuce salads due to a random sample testing positive for Salmonella. The bags were distributed in 15 states. Colorado does not appear to be on that list.
The recalled salads have a UPC code 71430 01057 and product codes 0577N089112A and 0577N089112B. The product code is located in the upper right-hand corner of the package, while the UPC code is on the back.
The use-by date is April 11, 2012, so many consumers may no longer have the bag. No illnesses have been reported at this time.
Anyone with questions can contact Dole Food Company Consumer Response Center at 800-356-3111, open 9 a.m.-4 p.m. MST Monday-Friday.
