Police say a 14-year-old boy who fell into the Poudre River and his uncle who tried to save him both died Monday.
The boy reportedly slipped into the river around noon Monday while fishing at or near a picnic area and campground about 12 miles up Poudre Canyon from Ted's Place.
The Larimer County Sheriff's Office says his jumped in to try to save the boy but was unable to help him. The man flown to the hospital where he later died.
The river is running high because of runoff from the spring runoff and recent rainfall.
