For the first time today we heard from the wife and daughters of Tom Clements.
His memorial was held this morning at New Life Church.
It's been a very emotional morning for those who knew Tom especially his family who talked for the first time publicly about last Tuesday night.
"Last Tuesday night our doorbell rand and my life changed forever," Lisa Clements, Tom's wife, said at today's service. She and their two daughters stood side by side in front of hundreds today.
They were last to speak at today's memorial. The family now trying to move forward the way Tom would have.
We also heard from the governor and members of the Missouri Department of Corrections where Clements started his career.
We'll have much more on the memorial coming up on 11 News at 4:30.
Governor John Hickenlooper has called for flags across the state to remain at half-staff until sundown on Monday.
Clements, 58, was killed Tuesday night at his home in Monument. He is survived by his wife, Lisa, and two daughters, Rachel and Sara.
