Two people are in custody and an estimated $7 million worth of marijuana seized in a pair of drug busts in Pueblo County.
According to the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office, the bust was the culmination of a multi-agency investigation that began in January when a snowshoer spotted the operation. They say over 7,000 or more marijuana plants were found at two different sites in Rye.
Two men were taken into custody during the busts, while two others ran from the deputies. All four were described as migrant workers.
Helicopters were called in to help take some of the marijuana away, but the work of cutting and bundling it may last overnight.
