A FLASH FLOOD WATCH will go into effect at NOON and last through MIDNIGHT from most of Southern Colorado. Scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms will be more than capable of producing very heavy rain once again. Burn scars and areas that saw heavy rain yesterday will be under the greatest risk for flash flooding. The 11 Breaking Weather Team will be tracking this threat all day for you.
Police are gathering evidence after a chase put one officer in the hospital and left a suspect dead.
That happened Wednesday afternoon in northwest Denver.
Police believe the suspects committed a crime outside the city and officers caught up with them in a neighborhood north of downtown Denver.
Neighbors heard several shots.
The officer was hit in the shoulder. He has serious injuries but is expected to be OK.
One of the suspects was killed. Three others were injured during the chase and a fifth is still on the loose
