The chairman of the Republican National Committee announced on Thursday that Denver is now one of eight cities being considered as a host city for the 2016 Republican National Convention.

Reince Priebus posted a tweet that said the cities that have “moved on to the next phase” in their process are:
- Cleveland
- Cincinnati
- Columbus
- Denver
- Dallas
- Kansas City
- Las Vegas
- Phoenix

On Monday Denver submitted a 700-page bid to host the convention.
Included as part of the city’s effort was a YouTube video in which Hancock and Gov. John Hickenlooper said Colorado is “equally divided among Rs, Ds and Us, one third across the board.”
