Overnight a disturbance passes through parts of S Colorado... this will bring a push of moisture falling as rain in the Plains with a few late night/early morning showers possible in Pueblo. For the Palmer Divide, N & W El Paso Co. and Teller Co. it will fall as snow... bringing a few additional inches of accumulation in mainly between 1am and 6am, lingering into the mid morning. A serious traffic accident in Pueblo that closed Highway 50 claimed the life of one woman, and sent an adult and a child to the hospital Friday evening.
Colorado State Patrol says 36-year-old Valerie Taylor, of Pueblo, was killed when she failed to stop at a red light at Purcell Boulevard and Highway 50 shortly after 8 p.m. Her Dodge Neon collided with a Jeep Grand Cherokee that was heading westbound on Highway 50.
A 15-month-old sitting in a car seat in the backseat of Taylor’s car was taken to Parkview Main Hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the Jeep was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
State Patrol says that they do not suspect alcohol use or speeding in this accident.
