Colorado State Patrol says a man riding a motorcycle was killed in an accident on Colorado Highway 12 near Weston.

Troopers say the 2011 Kawasaki Ninja was going west on the highway when it went off the right side of the road. The motorcycle then hit a log and a tree. The rider was thrown from the motorcycle and was killed.

The motorcyclist was identified as 71-year-old Allen Manarik of Trinidad. He was wearing his helmet when he crashed.

Manarik was last seen on Sept. 29. He was reported missing on Oct. 1, but the crash was not reported until Oct. 2. The crash is under investigation.

Troopers currently do not believe drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
