A 6-year-old girl was killed Sunday in a deadly crash that left two others with serious injuries.
State Patrol says the car was heading east on Highway 96 in Crowley County when it rolled. The driver reportedly went off the side of the road, over-corrected, and then crashed.
Troopers say neither the little girl or a 4-year-old boy in the car were in child safety seats at the time of the crash. Both were instead restrained by lap belts. The 29-year-old driver, Jamie Netherton of Ordway, Colo., was not wearing a seat belt.
All three were transported to Parkview Medical Center in Pueblo, where the 6-year-old later died. The 4-year-old has since been airlifted to the Children's Hospital in Denver.
Troopers say not paying attention to the road is a contributing factor of the crash. They are looking into the possibility that drugs or alcohol were involved, but have not confirmed either.
