Crook Steals Lottery Tickets From Convenience Store

An armed robber got away with cash and lottery tickets after targeting a Springs gas station Wednesday night.

Police are now looking for the suspect.

According to the clerk, the suspect walked into the Diamond Shamrock just after 9:30 p.m. carrying a silver handgun. He walked straight to the counter and demanded money and lottery tickets. After the clerk complied, the suspect ran off.

A K-9 unit searched the area but was unable to track him.

The suspect is described as 6 feet tall and 225 pounds, age and race unknown. His face was concealed by a bandana. He was wearing a dark hoodie, light gray sweatpants and black tennis shoes.

The Diamond Shamrock is located at 2709 Arlington Drive, not far from Circle and the MLK Bypass in Colorado Springs.
