The biggest concern for this afternoon/evening will be frigid temperatures. Highs will only max in the teens and 20s with breezy conditions and wind chills in the single digits. An armed robber got away with cash and lottery tickets after targeting a Springs gas station Wednesday night.
Police are now looking for the suspect.
According to the clerk, the suspect walked into the Diamond Shamrock just after 9:30 p.m. carrying a silver handgun. He walked straight to the counter and demanded money and lottery tickets. After the clerk complied, the suspect ran off.
A K-9 unit searched the area but was unable to track him.
The suspect is described as 6 feet tall and 225 pounds, age and race unknown. His face was concealed by a bandana. He was wearing a dark hoodie, light gray sweatpants and black tennis shoes.
The Diamond Shamrock is located at 2709 Arlington Drive, not far from Circle and the MLK Bypass in Colorado Springs.
