Utility crews are going door to door today to relight pilot lights after hundreds of customers lost service.

Atmos Energy in Canon City says approximately 650 people in the Dawson Ranch area lost service Tuesday evening. Crews spent the night turning off customer's gas meters for safety.

Wednesday morning crews from throughout the state were on hand to fix the problem and relight pilot lights in customers appliances.

The company says utility workers in Atmos Energy uniforms are canvassing the area through Wednesday evening.
