Alcohol is being considered a factor in a crash caused by a pickup truck going the wrong way on I-25, according to police.

The accident happened at 1:20 a.m. Sunday in the northbound lanes of I-25 near Rockrimmon Boulevard in Colorado Springs.

Investigators say the truck got onto the interstate at Rockrimmon, but was going south in the northbound lanes.

The driver of the Dodge Ram pickup then reportedly hit a Toyota SUV.

Police say the occupants of the Toyota had to be cut out of the vehicle. Severity of injuries to those involved has not been released.

Northbound I-25 was closed from Garden of the God's Road to N. Nevada Ave. until 6:10 a.m.

The accident is still under investigation.
