Colorado Springs Police say the driver of a truck that caused a major accident in Colorado Springs late Thursday afternoon may have been intoxicated. We are in contact with police this morning to learn if that driver will be charged with DUI.

The four-vehicle wreck happened on Platte Avenue just east of Chelton Road.

Investigators said a white Chevrolet truck was west bound in the left through lane and failed to slow or stop for vehicles stopped at the light at Chelton.

Three people were transported from the scene to a local hospital. One of those people is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Chevrolet truck was one of the people transported. The condition of the people transported is not known at this time

Westbound Platte avenue was opened at 8:50 Thursday evening after being closed for about four hours following the accident.
