A Major accident on I-25 in northern Colorado will likely have the interstate shut down for hours.
The accident happened at mile marker 253 north of Denver.
State Patrol says there are multiple vehicle crashed and a semi-tanker started on fire. They say as many as 50 vehicles, including four semis, may have been involved.
Several people were taken to the hospital, but the extent of their injuries is unknown. No fatalities have been reported.
The Red Cross is at the scene to help stranded motorists and on-scene personnel.
State Patrol says the northbound lanes are closed and not expected to open for several hours.
Poor weather and driving conditions are considered the main cause of the accidents.
