After almost three weeks on paid administrative leave, the budget director for the city of Colorado Springs has retired.
Lisa Bigelow joined the city's Budget Department in 1994, after previously working for El Paso County. She was responsible for managing the annual budget process, infrastructure finances, debt management and financial analyses.
City spokeswoman Cindy Aubrey sent media a written announcement of Bigelow's retirement Friday afternoon. The retirement is effective immediately.
Aubrey's message also indicated that Bigelow will receive a six-month severance package. KKTV has inquired about the value of that package.
City representatives never explained why Bigelow was placed on paid administrative leave, saying it was a personnel matter.
