Colorado thieves use sledgehammers to take watches

LONE TREE, Colo. (AP) - Police are searching for three men who witnesses say used sledgehammers to smash display cases and steal Rolex watches from a mall jewelry store.

Lone Tree police say the men entered the Ben Bridge Jewelers store around 8:45 p.m. Friday. The store is located in the Park Meadows Mall in Lone Tree south of Denver.

Police say the three left the mall through a sporting goods store and then left the area in an SUV that was reported stolen minutes after the incident.

Police say the SUV, a silver Jeep Liberty, has a Colorado license plate 793OUD.
