We will be continuing our 11 Breaking Weather coverage and take you live on the roads throughout the evening.
KKTV 11 news reporter Karen Morfitt was live earlier this evening near Centennial and Vindicator on the west side of Colorado Springs.
We also spoke with the city today and they say they sent out crews earlier today and they've been out all day long trying to stay ahead of this storm.
Bard Lower is the city operations manager. He says they have all of their trucks out on the streets- that's close to 40 plows.
Now they've also called in drivers to work throughout the evening and into tomorrow morning.
Lower says they were expecting roads to get worse around rush hour and wanted to be ready.
"There's so much traffic out there so it creates problems, because our guys they can't get around to put down the material and everyone wonders where the trucks are," Lower said. "Well they are stuck in the same traffic they are."
It's not just southern Colorado getting hit by this storm.
We've been in touch with the Colorado Department Of Transportation throughout the day.
Their crews work 12 hour shifts -around the clock to keep the roads clear.
And they are expecting things to get worse this evening and overnight.
