Colorado Springs Lifting Fire Restrictions

The monsoon pattern has brought increased precipitation and higher humidity to the Springs area over the last few weeks, allowing the city of Colorado Springs to lift its fire restrictions.

This is effective Tuesday at 8 a.m.

The Colorado Springs Fire Department says natural fuels are currently less vulnerable to ignition due to the increase in moisture levels. They still urge the public to continue fire mitigation around their homes, and to still practice caution outside.

"We have had an extremely active fire season this year, but weather conditions are improving and restrictions can now be lifted,” Colorado Springs Fire Marshal Brett Lacey said in a statement.

A complete list of lifted fire restrictions can be found on the city's website. Visit the link below.
