Colorado GOP to Seek 2016 Convention

DENVER (AP) -- Colorado Republicans plan to seek the Republican National Convention in Denver in 2016.

KCNC reports that Republicans believe they have a good shot at luring the convention (http://cbsloc.al/1a6vnhX).

Denver gave Democrats a successful start in 2008, when President Barack Obama accepted his party's nomination at Mile High Stadium.

Colorado Republican Chairman Ryan Call says the state GOP will make a formal presentation in the months ahead. A decision is expected by the end of 2014.
