Fresh off the heels of some of the most devastating flooding the state has ever seen, Coloradans responded in droves Wednesday night, donating more than $1 million to help their friends and neighbors recover.
The Colorado Broadcasters Association, Rocky Mountain PBS, the Red Cross and the Community Food Share teamed up Wednesday for the Colorado Flood Relief Fundraiser telethon, which aired from 4 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on PBS. The responsive was massive: five hours in, callers had already donated almost $725,000. In the final 90 minutes, that jumped figure jumped over the $1 million mark.
All proceeds in this telethon are going towards helping flood victims statewide, funneled through the American Red Cross and Community Food Share.
