Colorado Corrections Facilities On Lockdown Through Weekend

Colorado Department of Corrections facilities are on a precautionary lockdown throughout the weekend. They have essentially been on lockdown since the death of Tom Clements on Tuesday.

According to a DOC official, this is not due to any new specific threat. Because of the death of Tom Clements, she said, the DOC has done this as a security measure.

A precautionary lockdown means that offenders are restricted in their movements and visits and voluntary programs are canceled.

Corrections staff have alerted media today, they say, because of standard weekend visiting hours, which are now canceled.
