Colo. To Finally Set Limits On Driving Stoned

A marijuana driving limit in Colorado is headed to the governor's desk -- on the measure's sixth try through the Legislature.

The state Senate gave final approval Tuesday to a bill to say juries can assume someone is impaired by marijuana if their blood contains more than 5 nanograms per milliliter of THC, marijuana psychoactive ingredient. The bill has been fiercely debated for several years in Colorado because of questions about whether THC blood tests are a fair gauge of impairment.

The Senate approved the bill 24-11, sending it to the desk of Democratic Gov. John Hickenlooper. The governor supports the bill.

The Senate still had to take up two meaty marijuana bills before midnight -- one to tax the newly legal drug, and one to regulate it.
