Speed is being cited as a likely factor in a deadly crash that claimed the life of a college student Tuesday morning.
Colorado State Patrol says 21-year-old Caleb Hughes of Chama, N.M. was just six miles from Alamosa, where he attended Adams State, when he veered off the road and lost control of his vehicle. Troopers say his Ford F-250 pickup rolled twice, and Hughes--not wearing a seat belt--was ejected.
Hughes was transported to the San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center, where he later died.
At this time, the crash remains under investigation.
