A suspected shoplifter was in the hospital Monday night after a clerk stepped in stop him.
Police say a little after 5 Monday evening, Carl Greer stole two beers from the store, Harry's liquor on South Nevada near I-25.
According to investigators, the clerk went outside to stop the man, and Greer took a swing at the clerk. The clerk punched the suspect in the face knocking him to the ground.
When police arrived, they found Greer on the ground, bleeding from his head. The clerk wasn't hurt.
